How much RAM do I need for a Modpack server?
Modpacks generally need more RAM than Vanilla servers, since they bring additional mods and worlds. The amount of RAM you need depends on the size of the modpack:
Lightweight modpacks: 2-4 GB RAM
Medium-sized modpacks: 4-8 GB RAM
Large modpacks (like RLCraft or SkyFactory): 8+ GB RAM

Can I install my own modpack on my server at Host Honest?
Yes, at Host Honest you can upload your own modpack and install it on your server. Just make sure to select "Custom Modpack" when ordering. If you have questions, our support team is happy to help.
What do I do if a mod on my server isn't working?
If a mod isn't working on your server:
- Check whether the mod and the modpack are compatible with the Minecraft version you're using.
- Make sure all required mods are installed correctly (some mods depend on other mods to work).
- Check your server's log files for errors.

Who can play on my Minecraft server?
In general, anyone who owns Minecraft and the matching modpack can play on your Minecraft server.
Which Minecraft version do I need to play?
Many modpacks run on specific versions of Minecraft, such as 1.12.2 or 1.16.5. Check the modpack's requirements to use the correct Minecraft version.
Can I generate a new map?
Sure. In our web management panel, you also have access to all of your server's files. So you can delete or rename your map, and a new one will be generated automatically.
How can I back up my server at Host Honest?
To back up your server, we recommend creating regular backups of your world and server data. Host Honest offers automatic backup features that you can enable in your control panel. It's also a good idea to create manual backups before major changes.
Can I set up password protection?
Unfortunately, it's not possible to set a password on Minecraft servers. However, you can add players to the whitelist to grant them access to the server.
Can I get a dedicated IP address?
Yes, on request. Please note that a dedicated IP address is provisioned manually by us. Provisioning can take up to 24 hours, after which your server will be restarted automatically.
